The Kosovo Conflict in 1999 has its roots in the turbulent history of Yugoslavia. Starting before the First World War when the Ottoman Empire ruled it to the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1992, Kosovo has had a violent history. Yet, in March 1999, NATO planned to put an end to it and change its history to a much more peaceful one and the United Kingdom played a large role in it.
